The past week I was in the spell of Steve Jobs, CEO of Apple. Why do you think? I'm no Apple adept. Just have a PC and not Mac. No, the reason for this sudden interest was the movie Pirates of Silicon Valley from 1999 that I've seen recently about Steve Jobs and Bill Gates.

Steve Jobs can present great and the presentations he gives are really super cool to watch. The pioneering and yet user-friendly technology that Apple has long will also help to make a real event out of it. Read more »

Occasionally it is nice to have a nice nostalgic best to do. As you get older do you have more need for it seems, but if so then I probably have a professional nostalg, because I am already very attractive.

Take for example the old video games of yesteryear. Yet really made up of pixels and not polygons. Fantasy and imagination were necessary in order to empathize in a karaktertje of sixteen by sixteen pixels. Read more »

Last Wednesday I had with my colleague Frank a customer visit in Sittard. A nice short ride, but then you have some. The sun was shining and after the appointment we rushed to the marketplace for a snack and a drink. This party, however, was not.

It soon turned out that neither of us had a valid debit or cash. This we could not pay. This was very unfortunate given the atmosphere that radiated from the terraces, but even worse was that our vehicle, a solid Volkswagen Golf Station, virtually without petrol rose. So we had to refuel it, otherwise we were not home. Read more »

Arm and Empire is the title of a book I recently read. The title might perhaps suggest a heavy pill, but that was not true. Literally, it was also a tough pill: a few hundred pages. But that did not stop it was fun to read.

The author tries to explain why Western countries now have become so rich and the other countries remained poor. This theme is well developed. You read about all kinds of people: Spaniards, Portuguese, English, Japanese, Chinese, Dutch, etc., and their (mis) performance. Between the lines are some fun facts. Read more »
