Najib Amhali is one of the best known and most popular comedians in the Netherlands. The circus theater in Scheveningen was the scene of his latest show 'The best of Najib Amhali' in which he not surprisingly the best sketches from his previous five programs, combined.

The circus is a beautiful, large room. Before the show we used the opportunity to enter the theater restaurant for a bite to eat. This was well cared for and culinary worthwhile. Handy was also the option to reserve your table in the break to keep, complete with appetizers and a thank you. So we could relax without the pause in long queues to get up.

Najib had a long show for us for almost three hours. This is true even for him very long. His repertoire is good, though in my experience it less fun if you know beforehand what will happen. Najib's humor is often based on rehearsed spontaneity. The first time you see it is very refreshing, but once the trick is clearly the luster lost it.

The red thread through the show consisted of a retrospective on the life of Najib and various cabaret programs he has made. This was occasionally interrupted by short films, which formed a pleasant interlude. This covered Najib's friends and residents of his hometown to speak, like the Chinese where he always went to dinner.

All elements that are as fun shows came over: fascinating stories about his childhood, the jokes about immigrants as only he and his Moroccan ancestry they can make, and of course he went a little beatboxing and drumming. The comedian loot his popularity well, the huge hall was sold out several times in the theater and we were able to shop t-shirts, caps, scarves and DVDs.

After the show we could look back on a nice evening, though I Najib Amhali still just expected more.

    Hi Jer,
The more you see, the more you're spoiled. His new show is refreshingly down again.
