Usually when I go to the theater is that for a cabaret show and a few times for a musical. To even consider trying another genre I managed to get tickets for the play "The Beauty Queen of Leenane." This piece has several good reviews and the cast consists solely of stars.
Nelly Frijda, Annick Boer, Waldemar Torenstra and Teun Luijkx were on the scene to admire. The performance was one of the last tryout for the official premiere a few days later.
The story is about a mother and daughter who live together in seclusion in Ireland. The daughter will have long been for her mother from a kind of obligation they feel to do so, but is far from happy. If a man comes along trouwgrage she gets even more confused and bizarre things happen.
Because I am new to the genre was difficult to assess whether it was a good play. The story I found very interesting, but what I am somewhat disappointed was the lack of speed, spectacle and stage variation. This left only the story and about performances. For seasoned theater lovers probably more than enough but for someone who comes to the theater to be entertained, I found it a bit too skinny.

Then you're really new to this genre. For the seasoned theater lovers this piece is particularly bad. The tension is missing in this whole story. It is badly directed and is truly an example of commercial geldklopperij of V & V Entertainment. You put a few big names in one piece, and there'll be people, it's definitely not worth the money.
If you go to the theater is you probably need not expect spectacle and scenery changes. You must go to the story and the good game. The beautiful story was there. There is just nothing done. The part showing that mother is dead here is comical about it, while actually very shocking should have been.
In short, very badly played. If you go to the theater to be entertained, I would if I were you just enjoy musicals continue to visit. Would you like jumping into a tragedy then you might go more often to the stage. But certainly not to this version of The Beauty Queen of Leenane.

Hi Jer,
Indeed we have seen better pieces, but it was a premiere so who knows what it is yet. Do not be deterred.

For years I go to plays ...... weggeaan was in the break, but by promise in the folder that the end would be ehel surprisingly, I stayed. It was really Prut Prut Prut and not at all surprising. Sooooo BAD! And not even so much by the actors.

Well it's still nothing you know! A very disappointing performance despite Nelly Frijda. The story: endless repetitions while the public has long understood, often over the top / unbelievable piece making it meaningless and the boredom and brutality can not bear. It was sophisticated, intelligent and could have been tighter. It will Annick Boer and 'younger brother' unreal about it. They continue to actors on the stage .. too bad that gespeeld.En walking on heels ... that annoying played badly like going to a failed farce was watching.

Unfortunately had already purchased tickets early, partly because the cast and positive announcement. Unfortunately for me a disappointment. Surprisingly little piece and not very good performances. Nelly Frijda still played fairly subdued, Annick Boer annoyed me (is subjective observation) and Waldemar Torenstra fell regularly in the Dirty Man facial expressions and voice.
Do not understand why so high Verlinde and director of the play tasks.

For many years we have enjoyed all the pieces in the Paardenkathedraal.De special atmosphere, director, actors, contents were impressive. That it was taken over by what is now called The Utrecht games we found unfortunate, but who knows ...
Last night, we have seen the Beauty Queen of Leenane.
Of the atmosphere that was always there was little left.
The directing, acting, the scenery, we found very bad.
For the first time we went with a hangover away at The Horse's Cathedral.
