This weekend I was in London for the Affiliate Summit. An international event for companies that earn their living from the Internet. It was a nice occasion to London again to visit, new (international) contacts and old contacts.

I was in London at the invitation of De Heus . The trip occupied three days, one full day for visiting the Affiliate Summit.

The arrival after a pleasant flight was late Thursday afternoon, so there was little time to really do anything. Well I met my roommate Jeroen Ligthart those interesting activities such as the development and deployment of Viral games. Evening there was room in the pub next to the hotel a few tasty beers to drink Guinness.

Friday was entirely devoted to the exhibition. These included an 'exposition' room containing some thirty exhibitors and some speeches from leading internet marketers. All in all, the Summit was rather disappointing. There were relatively few interesting parties present and the turnout was low. From the speeches there was a very interesting, about search engine marketing . Furthermore I have not heard much news.

Evening there was an opportunity to explore London's nightlife. We exploit this opportunity by the nightclub Turnmills visit. Notable was the tremendous forces at the door. The attendants, especially where there were ten, looked dangerously out there there was a visible police presence. Occasionally, someone pulled out and then evacuated. The line was long and we were forced as close as possible to stand off. This atmosphere was anything but pleasant and called aggression.

Really cheap it was not even in Turnmills. Entrance fifteen pounds, six pounds for a beer and of course one pound fifty separate checkout for the wardrobe. If you see that efficient Dutchman with sorrow. But once inside the nightclub, there was little more about the aggressive atmosphere and we certainly had a great time.

Saturday morning after a hearty English breakfast I met with Paul Brasset, our representative GameBasics in the United Kingdom. The Chelsea fan was obviously completely in style. Among the authentic English hooligan look proved to be a nice guy and very serious to hide.

The afternoon we spent some time in central London. The imposing buildings and characteristic features continue to impress London. We had perfect (un-English) weather, so that helped too. After a bite to eat on a terrace, we were also surprised by pigeons brutally kaalvraten and the table in less than 60 seconds made a huge mess.

After this short break it was time to go to the airport for the trip. Unfortunately, I had the misfortune to customs that they observe strict safety in England well: my toiletry bag containing deodorant, toothpaste and perfume after shave. These articles were accused by the careful guard unceremoniously out of my bag fish.

Yet I can look back on a fun outing organized, where it was useful for networking among my companions about 60. When I next time I'm in London quite a bit more time to the downtown view. In any case sufficient reason to return again.
